Fundacion 23’s Programs & Projects to Help Communities in the Dominican Republic

Our main programs are to support homes for the elderly and vulnerable families, and to send donations to the Dominican Republic. Once these priorities are covered, the remaining funds go to the Community Center, educational scholarships, seminars and the 16-passenger van for community transportation.

01.

— Educational Seminars & Scholarships

Goal: Launch programs by December 2026 to:
Provide scholarships for children to access education more easily. Offer educational seminars for parents on child development, health and family wellness.

Current Status:
Waiting on the funds to flow in.

Why it is important:
Scholarships provide opportunities for youth, while seminars equip parents with knowledge to strengthen their families.

02.

Support for Nursing Homes & Families

Goal: Provide monthly assistance to:
20 families by December 2025.
10 nursing homes by June 2026.

Current Status:
Assistance to 1-2 families per month.
Assistance to 1-2 nursing homes on an irregular basis.

Why it is important:
Consistent assistance ensures that families and elderly residents have access to essentials, improving their quality of life and safety.

03.

A Community & Donations Center

Goal: Open a Community Center by December 2027 to serve as:
A center to receive and distribute donations.
A space for after-school programs, annual wellness check-ups, parent seminars, summer schools, weekend art classes, birthday celebrations, parties, live performances, seminars, and much more!

Current Status:
No dedicated operating space in New Jersey or the Dominican Republic yet. We receive shipments at the family’s home.

Why it’s important:
This center will be the cornerstone of community support, education and engagement, fostering growth and connection for children and families.

Note:

This space can be purchased or built in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, where our foundation was born, and usually costs from $90,000 US Dollars for the purchase or construction. Also, it can be rented for about $2,000 US Dollars per month. Exact price, size and location vary.

04.

A 16 Van Passengers

Goal: Acquire a van by June 2026 to:
Improve delivery efficiency to nursing homes, families and community centers.
Adapt for cargo transportation (removable seats) and group trips/excursions.

Current Status:
Depending on personal vehicles and borrowed transportation.

Why it is important:
A van will streamline logistics, expand our reach, and allow for safe and reliable transportation for community activities.
